I write my own teaching material and have a catalogue of sheets which cover many different musical styles and abilities for drum kit, but lessons will be tailored specifically for you and your aspirations, whether you’re a beginner or a more experienced player who’s looking to develop further.

If you'd like to learn beats to specific songs then I'm happy to transcribe the drum parts for you to work on during your lesson. Additionally, if you’re interested in taking exams then I offer tuition in the Rockschool grades.

I believe that lessons should be fun and should help to develop a broad musical understanding, and as such I play bass guitar to accompany students during lessons. From experience, this will put the rhythms that you’re working on into a musical context and will assist in preparing you for playing with other musicians. The drums and the bass guitar are the combined rhythm section of a band and work together to support the other musicians.

In addition to the drum kit I also give lessons in hand drum technique. My hand drum of choice is the Bougarabou which originates in West Africa. The Bougarabou has a lovely mellow sound with a deep bass tone. If you’re interested in having hand drums lessons then please get in touch.
